Chard Motor Club is relaunched
Good evening all, with the south west’s ever growing scrambling scene myself, Chris Overd (Chairman), Richard Pidgeon (Secretary) and Phil Ryder (Treasurer) with Ben as our admin guru have got together and resurrected the Chard Motor Club, our plans are to run Classics, Twin shocks and Evos.
Having being told to find somewhere else to ride my Evo by a member of our scrambling community for asking a question and having an opinion I have done just that and with tying up with Rich and the boys we have been fortunate to grab the reigns of the previously dormant Chard Motor Club and bring it back to life!
Our first meeting we will be running a Haynes 4T reunion with 2t support, classics, twin shock and evos which we’re hoping will attract a good entry, especially for the nostalgic 4t boys and turning the clock back a few decades.
Our aim for the club is to be a riders club, to give value for money for the riders without forfeiting safety as well as providing the opportunity for you guys to ride/race your machines a couple more weekends in the season!
We will be running under the affiliation of the AMCA banner this season and entries will be through the ‘event app.io’
Our first meeting will be on the 9th June at Whiteway Barton, we have been in close talks with Russell Watts and have assured us that the track has been totally revamped with any step ups, drop offs etc taken away to make it rider and era friendly for our Classics and twinshocks so happy days.
Myself and Rich will be doing a track inspection to ensure it is good and safe for you guys to ride.
So here’s to our next challenge guys and gals and look forward to your valued support this season and a successful future.
Be safe and lets go racing
Kind regards
Chris Overd and the Chard Motor Club Team
